There are basically two ways you can make money from photos online. First option is that you can simply just sell your photos. The second way is to post your pictures in various places online and get paid when people click on them.
There are quite a few photo stocks online that allows you to put your photos for sale, all you have to do is create a free account, start uploading your photos and wait for the money to roll in. There are lots of web designers and magazine editors etc. looking for quality photos, so there definitely is a market, if you just got the pictures. There are many folks making a very decent money off their photos in this way, some can even call it their fulltime job.
The second way to make money with your pictures is much easier. You just post your photos to some photo hosting site that pays their users a part of their advertising income. Your revenue is calculated based on how many clicks your images get. Now if you post your photos to websites, blogs, eBay or forums etc. you can really make some nice money from your photos, it will not make you rich but you definitely can get some nice extra income.

The way Shutterstock works is that they will pay you 25 cents each time one of your photos is downloaded. So if your Shutterstock photos for example gets 1000 downloads per month, that would equal $250 to you. Many of the photographers gets a lot more than that, but of course you will have to have good pictures to really make noticeable money with them. After you have reached $500, your commission goes up to 30 cents per download, which of course means you’ll get more money off your photos.
One of the good things about Shutterstock is that the buyers subscribe on a monthly basis and then they are able to download all the way up to 750 images over the period of 30 days. What this can mean is that your chances of having your photos downloaded are much better than if the buyers could just pick one photo there and another one here. Shutterstock subscribers have purchased a right for 750 downloads and of course they are going to use it, whether they really need all the images or not.
